Reciprocating Engine Overhauls

Complete overhauls, top-end overhauls, and carburetor overhauls for reciprocating engines.

Reciprocating engine overhaul work

We can handle your field overhaul. Broken down into simple steps, here's what we do for major overhauls:

  • Inspect and deconstruct the engine
  • Make repairs, or send out parts for repair, as necessary
  • Reassemble the engine
  • Test and approve the engine for its return to service

How Long Will It Take?

The time it takes to have your engine overhauled depends significantly on several factors, including:

  • Supply chain conditions, or whether parts are readily available
  • Additional problems revealed during inspection

Full Overhaul (Complete / Major)

  • A complete disassembly, inspection, reconditioning, or replacement of every single component in the engine
  • We remove the entire engine from the airframe, strip it down to the bare block, clean and test parts, and overhaul to specifications

Best used for: restoring high-time or heavily worn engines that have reached their recommended Time Between Overhaul (TBO) limit.

Top Overhaul (Partial)

  • Repairs or replaces parts located on the upper section of the engine — such as the cylinder heads, valves, and gaskets
  • We work on the top components without removing the entire engine block from the airframe

Best used for: addressing issues confined to upper parts, like worn valves, when the lower engine block remains in good condition.
